Officer Reports

Fundraising by Dawn Hill
• Sold Gold Cards
• Sold 172 Boston Butts
• Cheesecake sales begin tomorrow. H.S. Band members will get 38 % of what they sell for their account and 10 % goes into general fund. All proceeds from M.S. go into general fund.
• Golf Tournament November 3, 2007. Dawn Hill needs help with this. Any golfers please contact her.

Concessions by Wayne Lloyd
• Have had one JV game, a M.S. jamboree and two games, and H.S. jamboree and Clay game. Also have people working on Wednesday nights to prepare for Thursday and Friday games. Could use more help.

Finance
• Receipts for H.S. Jamboree were $4,950.34
• Receipts for Clay game were $12,408.06
• Total receipts for M.S. (Jamboree, Oak Mt. and Pell City) were $6,826.80
• JV receipts were $1,840.40
• Total receipts for concession $26,026.60. Expenses have not been deducted yet. They usually run about 35%
• Pageant receipts were $9,108.00 expenses have not been deducted
• Trussville City School System will pay Directors’ supplements in the amount of approximately $15,000
• Boosters purchased new pit equipment totaling $18,000
• Booster fundraising money has gone to purchase 5 tubas for the M.S. and 5 French horns in last few years

Director’s Report

Mike Homes, Middle School Director
• Cheesecake sale begins tomorrow and will last a week. Last year both schools sold $42,000 worth of cheesecake.
• Booster money is also spent on additional instructors for band: Mike Jones, Mr. Reddick, Karla Roberts and Doublestop Percussion. These are certified teachers and we have asked the school board to consider covering these expenses. They have taken it under advisement.
• Beginner band has 144 members
• Fran Raughton needs help with forming a uniform committee for M.S. If anyone can help with this during the day, let Mr. Holmes know or Fran Raughton know.
• Extra room by Art room needs to be painted. Need paint and volunteer workers. Mentioned that an Eagle Scout troop might be able to do this as a service project.

Stephanie Ezell, H.S. Concert Band Director and Auxiliary Coordinator
No report because of auxiliary practice.

Scott Waid, H.S. Marching Band and Symphonic Band Director
• Pleased with progress of show and uniforms. Great visual. Kids have worked hard, whole show is complete
• Pointed out renovations to band room still in progress
• Pell City game students need to be at school at 4:30 bus will leave at 5:00
• September 29th contest cancelled because of homecoming
• Homecoming parade will be September 27th
• October 6th contest will be in Oneonta and October 20th contest will be at Hoover
• Spring trip scheduled for April 23-27, 2007 to Orlando. Plans are still being finalized but cost will be between $500.00 and $600.00 per student.
• Cheesecake sales 38% goes into student accounts for Spring trip; 10 % goes into general fund
• Band tower also needs painting and some boards replaced.

New Business

• Bobby Grogan is in charge of communications. He needs everyone’s phone numbers and email address.
• Mr. Holmes mentioned that the next M.S. game is Thursday, September 20. M.S. band will play at 8th grade game.
