Officer Reports

Fundraising by Dawn Hill
• Cheesecakes should arrive within the next two weeks. Will have about four days notice of arrival.
• Golf Tournament November 3, 2007.
$75.00 per person, includes green fees, cart and lunch
Sponsorship $100.00 hole sponsorship sign and tournament sponsor recognition
$ 50.00 tournament sponsor recognition
• December concert and parade will also include a craft fair in the morning at the High School with Santa pictures.

Concessions by Wayne Lloyd
• Only have three games left. One Middle School game this Thursday and two High School games on October 12th and November 2.

Director’s Report

Scott Waid, H.S. Marching Band and Symphonic Band Director

• Pleased with competition performance. Are working on things the judges pointed out that need work.
• Hoover Competition HT will perform at 7:00 p.m. on October 20th at Regions Park (Old Hoover Met)
• Email from Springville band parents re: band’s good behavior and awesome performance
• Fall break. There will be no band practice on Monday or Tuesday. They may be an auxiliary practice on Tuesday evening.
• Drumline practice on Friday, October 12th, at 1:00 p.m.
• Game on Friday, October 12th, band needs to be there at 4:45 for run through
• Purchased a Yamaha Stage Custom drum set for jazz band.
• Spring trip scheduled for April 23-27, 2007 to Orlando. Planning on staying on Disney property. Plans are still being finalized but cost will be between $600.00 and $650.00 per student which will include all meals.
• Christmas Concert will start at 9:00 a.m. with the concert band, symphonic band, and then Middle School bands. This will give High School students time to rest before parade. Will also have a Craft fair and pictures with Santa fundraiser.

Mike Homes, Middle School Director
• Last middle school game this Thursday (homecoming)
• Cheesecakes should be in within two weeks. Will have 4 or 5 days notice before arrival and will need help sorting and collecting money. Middle School sold $20,500 and High School sold $20,900. About $21,000 in profit which will go towards instructors, tuba overhauls and for High School student a percentage will go into their accounts.

Stephanie Ezell, H.S. Concert Band Director and Auxiliary Coordinator
No report because of auxiliary practice.

New Business

• Discussed publicity. Lenay Isbell volunteered to be publicity person.
• BOA trip is $56.00 which includes tickets and bus ride. Bands of America is a High School Competition on October 27 in Georgia. 25 spots still available. Need 5 or 6 parents to chaperone.
