BOOSTER MEETING MINUTES
October 13, 2008
Last scheduled game is Friday, October 31, 2008 at Benjamin-Russell. Since this is Halloween the band boosters would like to make candy bags for the students. It you would like to donate candy for the candy bags, please bring it by the concession stand at any of the remaining home games.

- Fundraising by Dawn Hill
- Cheesecakes will be delivered to the middle school on Thursday, October 16, 2008. Will need some help to sort out orders. Money will be due Friday, October 24, 2008. Will also need help counting money that day.
- Cheesecakes will be delivered to the high school on Monday, October 20, 2008. Need help sorting out orders. Money due on Monday, October 27, 2008. Will also need help counting money on that date.
- Christmas Concert is December 6, 2008. We will be pre-ordering 20 oz cases of coke products and Boston Butts for pick up on the same day. Money will be due at time of order. Also will be taking Santa pictures and will need some help with that.
- Gold tournament is being planned for Spring 2009

- Concessions are doing well. Possibility of two home playoff games. Will need help staffing concession stands for those games since they were not on the original schedule.

- Reports still not complete because of transition to new treasurer, Crystal Buzbee.

Directors’ Report
Brandon Peters, Middle School Director
- Cheesecakes will be delivered to the middle school on Thursday, October 16, 2008. Will need some help to sort out orders. Money will be due Friday, October 24, 2008. Will also need help counting money. Middle school raised $10,000
- October 30, 2008 will be a beginning band concert at the middle school
- Check out M.S. blog at HTMSband.blogspot.com.
- Mr. Peters is sending a weekly parent/student email. If you are not on the list email Mr. Peters so he can add you to the email list.
- Will need help fitting concert and symphonic band for gray pants and blue blazers soon.
- This Thursday is the last middle school home football game.
Stephanie Ezell, H.S. Concert Band Director and Auxiliary Coordinator
- Serious need for some help in the music library sorting and organizing music and in the Auxiliary storage room. Please let Mrs. Ezell know if you can help.
- After this week’s competition, the concert band will split from the symphonic band and work on concert music
- Concert tentatively scheduled for November 6, 2008 has been cancelled.
- Christmas Concert will be December 7, 2008
- Friday, November 7, 2008, there will be an auxiliary lock in after the play-off game. They will view examples of Winter Guard indoor competition and discuss same. Dance team will create a dance routine.
Scott Waid, H.S. Marching Band and Symphonic Band Director
- Proud of the amazing facility at the new high school. Please encourage your children to take care of this new facility. If something is left in the band room, there will be a one day grace period and if it is not claimed, it will be sent to Hannah Home
- Good performance at Prattville last weekend. Thanks to Band Boosters for picnic and Beth Hide for organizing the chaperones. Awarded “Most Entertaining Band” of the day. The Band placed 2nd overall falling 1 point behind Daphne. The Drum Majors had the highest score overall. The Dance Team has the highest score overall.
- Hoover Competition is this Saturday. Details are on the website.
- Spring trip has been proposed but not approved by administration yet. It will be a Carnival Cruise on the Fantasy out of New Orleans to Cosumel on Thursday, April 23, 2009 through Monday, April 27, 2009. You will have to have a passport to go on this trip. The sooner you get that, the better. The trip should be somewhere around $600 to $650 this will be confirmed at a later date.
